ABOUT THE EDITOR

E. Hirano is a Mexican visual artist, editor and designer, and the founder of Noisy Rain Magazine, an independent publication established in 2011.

Since its inception, the magazine has developed as a sustained editorial structure dedicated to the exploration of the male figure in contemporary art. Over more than ninety issues, it has brought together over two hundred artists from different contexts, forming an evolving archive of visual perspectives on masculinity, identity and intimacy.

As editor and art director, Hirano has defined the conceptual framework, visual language and editorial system of the publication, maintaining a consistent curatorial direction while allowing each issue to function as a distinct visual sequence.

Selected Collaborations

Alongside the magazine, his practice extends into collaborative projects across publishing and exhibition formats, working with artists featured within the platform.

Selected collaborations include editorial design for Where Madness Follows by Anthony Boccaccio, illustration work for a poetry publication by Trevor Hall, and typographic design for The London Boys, a project by Wojciech Jachyra.

In parallel to his artistic work, Hirano has been involved in teaching cinema, art history and visual culture.

Noisy Rain remains an independent project, sustained entirely through its community of artists and readers.
